Two of our field units
are what we call Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs).
Spartanburg EMS pioneered the use of QRVs in 1984.
A QRV is staffed with one paramedic and provides paramedic
quick response and back up in call zones that are serviced by
volunteer rescue squads. This
prevents costly duplication of ambulances and allows more efficient
medical care to be provided to the county citizens.

offers an intensive quality improvement review of EMS calls on a

written feedback on calls reviewed in the QI process is given to all
paramedic employees.
